Unsere digitalisierte Gegenwart erlaubt uns ständig in Kontakt zu sein, gleichzeitig ist Isolation einfacher denn je. Heutzutage sind wir umgeben von Technologien, die Gesellschaft und zwischenmenschliche Erfahrung komplett verändert haben. Was bedeuten dann Distanz und Nähe unter diesen Umständen?

Für das Projekt Proximity Recollection beschäftigt sich der litauische Künstler Arnis Aleinikovas gemeinsam mit professionellen und nicht-professionellen Künstler*innen mit ebendieser Frage. Wann fühlen wir uns nah? Wie gehen wir sozialen Bedürfnissen nach? Welche Möglichkeiten haben wir, zusammen zu kommen?

Für fünf Workshops und ein Showing der daraus resultierenden Ergebnisse in der FALTE suchen wir Interessierte jeden Alters mit Lust auf interdisziplinäre künstlerische Arbeit & Performance (Vorerfahrungen sind nicht nötig).

Die Teilnahme am Projekt ist kostenlos.

Die Hauptarbeitssprache ist Englisch.

Workshops finden im August in der FALTE statt:

Das Abschluss-Showing im September findet am 26.09. in der FALTE statt.
Proben und Vorbereitungen dafür finden am 18.–20.09. und 23.–26.09. statt.

Zur künstlerischen Leitung:

Arnis Aleinikovas ist interdisziplinärer Künstler aus Litauen und arbeitet an den Schnittstellen von Performance, elektronischer Musik, Medienkunst, Text und Theater. Proximity Recollection in Hannover ist Teil seiner umfangreicheren künstlerischen Forschung zum Thema Nähe im digitalen (post-Covid) Zeitalter. Ähnliche partizipative und workshop-basierte Formate entstanden bereits in Litauen, Slowenien, Portugal und Italien.

on the theme of closeness

Our digitalised present allows us to stay in constant contact, yet at the same time, isolation is easier than ever. Today, we are surrounded by technologies that have completely transformed society and interpersonal experiences. What, then, do distance and closeness mean under these circumstances?

For the project Proximity Recollection, Lithuanian artist Arnis Aleinikovas, together with professional and non-professional artists, explores precisely this question. When do we feel close? How do we fulfill our social needs? What opportunities do we have to come together?

For five workshops and a presentation of the resulting work at FALTE, we’re looking for interested participants of all ages who are eager to engage in interdisciplinary artistic work and performance (no prior experience is necessary).

Participation is free of charge.

The main working language is English.

Workshops will take place in August at FALTE:

Wed, Aug. 19, 6–9 p.m.
Sat, Aug. 22, 1–6 p.m.
Sun, Aug. 23, 1–6 p.m.
Wed, Aug. 26, 6–9 p.m.
Sat, Aug. 29, 1–6 p.m.

The final showcase in September will take place on September 26 at FALTE. Rehearsals and preparations for the event will take place September 18–20 and September 23–26.

About the artistic director:
Arnis Aleinikovas is an interdisciplinary artist from Lithuania, working in performing arts, electronic music, media, writing and theatre. Proximity Recollection in Hannover is part of his broader artistic research regarding the topic of proximity in our digital (post-covid) age. Similar participatory, workshop-based works have been produced in Lithuania, Slovenia, Portugal and Italy.
